Indonesia is a country with so many traditions and tribes. One of those tribes is BATAK and I'm proud to inform you that I came from this tribe. If you see the lake as seen above is the homegrown of Batak tribe, but indeed is not only around this lake where the batak tribe came from. There are some other area which are not show in this article.

As a tribe, Batak has many customs, such as the custom for wedding, mortality, etc. The clothes that showed in this picture is a clothes that we used to have in our tribe activities. We wear it by putting it on our left shoulder (man and women). The length of that clothe usually around 2,5 meters and it made from special strings. And the price is variety depends on how many colors will use or also the design.

Compare to other tribes in Indonesia, Batak people well known as a strong willing peoples. They won't give up just like before they get what they dream about. And also well known as iron willed peoples especially to bring their family (kids) to become a good people, have good education, etc. Most of Batak tribe are Christiant. Batak land was the first land where the well known evangelize Nommensen brought the Gospel.

Batak tribe also has a kind of traditional house (as seen on the picture). It made from woods and it a kind of stage house with vault under the house and usually this vault is like their barn and hedge for their livestock such as pig, cow, etc. Yes, it sounds ridiculous but that's the truth.

Look what God has done to us! Isn't it awesome? Yes, it is! Praise the Lord...

'Becak'

In my home town, Medan-Indonesia, there's a common public transportation called BECAK (three chicle). There are 2 kind of becaks, one is with machine we call it with motor chicle (or in Indonesia language 'becak bermotor' and the other one is without machine we call it with 'becak dayung' (as seen in this picture) which rein by human power.

Some years ago the non machine 'becak' was very famous. It was our favorite transportation besides the price was not too expesinve. But nowadays, this kind of transporatation slowly but suer dissapear from the circulation of public transportation in Medan. It has been changed with 'becak bermotor'. The government had planned to effacement becak dayung and change it with the machine one. The riders of 'becak dayung' have no choice so they perforce their becak dayung with the machine one although indeed it really expensive for them to buy it. But they can buy it by credit from bank or any other transportation company which prepare credit program to those who need fund aid.

Compare to the becak bermotor, becak dayung was much, much better. Why? Environment friendly! There are some of becak dayung still exist until now but very limited. We need more becak dayung, beside it's good for our environment also there are peoples will have something to do for their living rather than become a rober, thief, etc.

HOME SWEET HOME

Danny is a 9 years old boy, the only child of a rich couple. His mom and dad are very busy peoples. But however they still trying to give their little time to their son Danny by spending the weekend with Danny, but it really seldom happens. Physically they're with Danny but not with their heart. Their works took almost all the time they have, they just pretend to be right beside their only son but in fact they are not really there. Although he's only a small boy but Danny could feel that he's not totally owned his parents' heart.

One day, the parents must go abroad in the same time but different destination for their business trip. Danny was so very sad but couldn't do anything but pretended by showed his nice smile when his waving his hand to his parents before the car moved slowly and leave Danny with his nanny.

The nanny noticed that Danny was so desperate and feel lonely in the midst of luxurious stuffs that almost filled his room. Is that the TV, DVD, or computer that Danny wants but the real happiness. Then, in the following day, the nanny took Danny to her house. Her house is a humble house, really far from luxurious stuffs. There's a small living room, small kitchen, and there's no dinning room, the kitchen is the dinning room. In other side there're two bed room.

The nanny is a widow, she live with her only son named Josh. Josh is in the same age with Danny. In the first Danny was timidly but Josh asked him to play with him on the back yard while the nanny cook for their lunch. Danny so very happy. He never had a great time like this before. Although the back yard is not as beautiful and clean as the back yard in his house but Danny really don't care about it. He keep laughed and laughed and running all around the yard together with Josh until they're both got tired.

In the evening they're having a great dinner with simple foods, far from he deluxe food that Danny used to eat at his home but Danny so enjoyable to eat. After dinner, three of them have a nice chit-chat in the living room. When the time start getting late the nanny took Danny and Josh to Josh's room to sleep. There's only a bed in that room but big enough for Danny and Josh. After everything done then the nanny leave that room but when she was about to reach the door, suddenly Danny rose from the bed and run towards her and then give his best hug to the nanny and said,"Now I feel really like at home! Thanks."



Many of us lost something in understanding the meaning of HOME SWEET HOME. It's not about any treasures things, it's not about luxurious but it's about heart. The real meaning of Home Sweet Home will come from a heart of people who live in that house with love and care to each other and know how to appreciate their life. This is my opinion. Beggar and Smoke Seller

Beggar, beggar and beggar!
They are all around our life. This old man actually is not freakish, he just pretend as a freakish to attract attention from peoples who passing by. This is what the old man doing day by day.
Let us compare to what this lady doing as seen in the next picture. She's a smoke seller on the street. When the red light turn on then she will approach cars and over the smoke to the driver.
According to your opinion which one is more noble. The beggar or the smoke seller????

The Color Of Our Life

what our life will looks like if there's no color at all!
It will not be interest, isn't it??



That is the reason why God put colors to every creatures including our life.
So it will looks more nice, interest and beautiful.
Life without problems won't be interest.
Somehow problems will make our life more life!

Useful

When I showed this picture none of my friends believe that this picture was taking by using my very ordinary cellular phone. They said,"Oh, no way! You must took in from Google or what!" but I said,"Nu-uh! I really took it by using my cellular and I still have it inside of the memory card of my cellular!"

Many times we are not concern to our life and everything around us. What we concern is something bigger and favorably, for example earn money as much as we want, get rich, etc, etc. We ignored the small things and thought that it's nothing. We didn't realize that we can earn something good from small things if we use our brain, mind and heart. Remember that big things begin from small things.

WATCH YOUR STEP!

When I was a 15 years old girl, once I joined a climber group from my school. We went to a mountain for climbing and it was a very first time for me to go to the real jungle and honestly it was so scaring to me.

Along the way our leader which he knows that area very well, he keep shouted,"Be careful! Watch your step!". Some of my friends quietly were laughed at him and said,"What a fret man!".

After some minutes finally we reached a very dangerous area. There only a very small track which was so tricky and only some meters from that track there was a very deep cliff. If we are not stepped very careful we could sprain in to that cliff.

Alas, one of my friend whom doesn't care at all to what our leader told us sprain in to that cliff because he kept playing all around the journey. Fortunately there was a big tree grew in the wall of that cliff and that tree helps my friend so his body not slipped any further more to the ground of that cliff.

This story is telling about us. All the time our Lord always lead our ways in our life journey. He keep remind us to watch our steps but we always ignore it. We thought that we are much better and wiser, know everything about our life than God. How many times we don't trust Him to lead our life. But actually the case is HE is the Owner of our life!

God is so rich! All His creatures are awesome!

Sunset

Peoples always hope that there always be sunshine in our life all the time.
But however we need to realize that there will be 2 seasons in our life:
'Season for sunshine' and 'Season for sunset'.
Like it or not we must get ready any time to face the season for sunset in our life!
But remember that whatever is the season in our life,
Jesus is always be with us and He won't let us walk alone by our self.

TIME IS UP!

"Time is up!"
I always remember those words. My former teacher used to say those words whenever the lesson or test was about to reach its end.
Can you imagine if one day the Lord utter those words to us???
Can you imagine what your feeling will be like???
This is not about our feeling actually, ready or not one day our time in this world will finally reach its end. Right? Right!
So instead of thinking what our feeling will be like we better thinking what we are going to do in our life before the Lord utter,"Time is up!" to us. Come on, our time is very limited.

Life Is Real

Everyday peoples are moving around from morning to evening or even from morning to morning. Seems 24 hours is not enough to finish all works. But you know what, that there are some of us are doing nothing, just pretending to be a busy people, in fact they don't
have any exactly thing to do.
Life is real not a drama. Do what is real.
The end of our life is not life itself but HEAVEN!

Babies!

Look at those eyes! Wow... amazing, isn't it? So clean and bright.
I wonder why there are many peoples don't like baby or
even they kill their babies? Look at them... they are so cute.
Please don't let the babies loose their life, their future.
I wish that one day God allow me to have my own baby.
There's nothing impossible for God. Right?? Right!!
I believe that every husband and wife indeed will give
all the best you have to your kids for better future.
But, pardon me, have you ever teach them about Jesus??

That small town named Senggarang

Senggarang is a name of a small town some where in Riau Kepulauan a part in Sumatera island, Indonesia. Last March 2009 me with the mission team from my church visited this place. I never been to this place before so it brand new experience to me. This place around one hour by boat from Batam island, still a part of Indonesia. But we can't reach this place directly instead of need to continue by car from the boat port. So to reach this place need almost 2 hours.
Before we stepped in to this town when the pastor gave some explanation about this place what came into my thought was a common town, you know what I mean. But the fact was not like that. Senggarang could be say as an unique town. Builded not on the ground but on the sea!
But please don't think they are all poor peoples! Most of them are rich peoples.
Most of the recidents are Chinesse and their religion is Budha. Only two or three families who are Christian. There's a church standing among the houses of residents. Praise the Lord!
Senggarang really need touch by the Gospel. The peoples in Senggarang are rich but they are poor and suffer and thirsty of Gospel.

Is any one willing to go there and spread the Gospel among the peoples in Senggarang??
